Utah Valley Symphony Performs Mahler

Experience an unforgettable evening of music with the Utah Valley Symphony as we present a program of passion, power, and beauty. Under the baton of our new Artistic Director and Conductor, Dr. Cheung Chau, the orchestra will bring to life Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, a sweeping masterpiece filled with energy, lyricism, and brilliance. This landmark symphony, often called “Titan,” takes audiences on a journey from pastoral landscapes to triumphant finales.

Adding to the evening’s artistry, acclaimed cellist, Walter Haman, will perform Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1, a dazzling and expressive work beloved for its elegance and fiery virtuosity. Don’t miss this chance to experience two monumental works performed with passion and precision by Utah Valley’s own symphony orchestra. Join us for a night that promises to inspire, uplift, and celebrate the richness of live symphonic music in our community.

It’s time for The Utah Valley Symphony’s annual summer performance at the Scera Shell Outdoor Theatre. This year we are accompanying Aaron Tveit, a Tony Award-winning, Broadway, television, and film actor and singer.

The show is Monday, August 25th, 8:00 pm. Doors open at 6:30.  General Admission tickets are still available.

Come early for a free train ride on the Orem Express between 5:00 – 8:00 pm. It’s starts just north of the Shell box office and follows a track through beautiful SCERA Park.

Join with Broadway legends Mindy Smoot Robbins, Dallyn Vail Bayles, and emcee Marvin Payne for a musical extravaganza featuring the Lux Singers and Utah Valley Symphony under the batons of UVS Associate Conductor Dr. Blanka Bednarz and Lux Singers Director Leland Spindler . With traditional Christmas classics and new music that will inspire you, this is a faith-centered celebration that the whole family will love.

Coming Together

A week and a half ago the Utah Valley Symphony had our concert with Loren Allred which was so much fun. I love coming together with special artists. I was inspired not only by Loren’s amazing voice but also by her comments about not giving up on your dreams and how music has blessed her life. She shared how the song Never Enough from The Greatest Showman changed her life and the course of her career. You never know when one seemingly small thing will end up changing your life forever.

After the concert another orchestra member said to me, “I don’t know why that made me emotional.” I knew what she felt because at one point in the concert, I felt it too. For me, it is bringing that many people together for something that is uplifting. It fills the world with goodness and fills your soul with joy. It’s great to play a small role as a flute player in the symphony by creating that experience for such a large crowd.

Keep dreaming. Don’t give up. Keep coming together and find ways to lift those around you.
